4th Of July Information
Rotary announces the 4th of July Grand Marshal
The Soda Springs Rotary Club is pleased to announce that the Grand Marshal for the 2021 4th of July is Tom Phelps, a venerable long time resident, veteran, and all around "good guy". Congratulations! Picture and bio will appear in a later edition of the Sun. Remember the theme this year is "In God We Trust" and we are also celebrating 125 years since Soda Springs became a city. Please reflect the theme and/or the city’s birth year in your parade entries.
Mark your calendars and save your pennies for all the great events surrounding this year's 4th of July. Please note, however, that all of the traditional events will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. The foam in the park will be on Friday, July 2nd.
For parade entries, contact Camille Petersen at, 208-339-1705.
For booths, contact Kathy Robinson at -208-270-3883.
Fun Run details to follow.
As you know, the parade route commands a huge crowd as we enjoy a myriad of entries. This year, to promote increased safety and avoid possible injury, we are implementing an alternate method for the throwing of candy and other items. Those entries that choose to throw candy and other goodies are requested NOT to throw from their floats, vehicles, etc. but to have entry participants walk or ride (four wheelers, bikes, etc.) beside the entry. The goal is to have all goodies to be thrown well away from the entries, thus keeping children (and adults) away from the risks of becoming injured in any way. Our hope is for another memorable and safe 4th of July celebration.
