Mike has worked at the Soda Springs Post Office for 11 years where he was very efficient at his job but most importantly had a great demeanor and you were sure to have a pleasant conversation when Mike was on duty. Mike recently left the post office to become a 2nd grade teacher to some very lucky kids because he is sure to be an awesome teacher.

Mike & DoraJo have been married 17 years and have two sons. They moved to Soda Springs in 2005 and quickly learned that they loved the community. Mike recently graduated with honors from Ashton University with a degree in elementary education. Before his new position as a 2nd grade teacher Mike worked for the school district teaching music at the elementary school and directing the Soda Pops Show Choir at the high school. Mike has been very involved in the community including being a member of the Theatre Guild, helping with Cub Scouts, a member of the Friends of the Library, Distinguished Young Women’s Program, voluntarily runs the Teen Reading Program at the Public Library and most recently serves on the board of the Gem Valley Performing Arts Center. Mike is also very involved in his church.

The Mayor and Council would like to thank Mike Messerly for his positive community contributions and recognize him as a “Soda Springs Super Hero”.
